LOVATO's BF series of safety contactors - designed for compliance with the latest international machine safety standards - is now available to order from iLECSYS.
The BFS range was developed to support safety-critical systems in line with ISO 13849-1 (Safety of machinery - Safety-related parts of control systems) and IEC/EN 62061 (Functional safety of safety-related parts in machinery control systems). These standards are essential for applications where machine shutdown, fault isolation, or emergency stops are required.
Ideal for heavy-duty applications, the series includes five model variants - BSF0923, BFS1223, BFS2523, BFS3222, and BFS3822 - with rated motor currents ranging from 9A to 38A AC-3 at 400V. Coil voltage options include 24VAC, 110VAC, 230VAC, and 24VDC, making the series adaptable to a wide range of control panel designs.
All models up to 25A feature 2NO + 3NC auxiliary contacts, while higher current models include 2NO + 2NC configurations.
The BF series is compliant with the 'Mirror Contacts' (IEC/EN 60947-4-1) function, which ensures that NC auxiliary contact cannot close simultaneously with the NO main contact, even in a fault condition (main contact welding), and 'Mechanically Linked Contacts' (IEC/EN 60947-5-1), that prevents the simultaneous closure of NO and NC auxiliary contacts, even in a fault condition.
The LOVATO BFS contactors also offer additional features over traditional designs:
- A non-removable auxiliary contact block to deter tampering and ensure consistent factory-set operation.
- Protective guards to prevent manual or tool-assisted operation.
- A distinctive yellow auxiliary contact block cover provides quick and easy identification within safety circuits.
- A front inspection window allows clear visibility of contactor status.
