We are pleased to share that Defibrillators Save Lives is the latest charity iLECSYS is supporting.
Supporting the communities around us has always been an important part of who we are at iLECSYS. Following our transition to an Employee Ownership Trust last year, we wanted our approach to charitable giving to reflect that shared ownership, giving our employees the opportunity to nominate charities that are meaningful to them.
Our Health and Safety Coordinator, Emma Argyle, nominated Defibrillators Save Lives, a charity based in Oldham that works to improve access to publicly available defibrillators and CPR training.
"I nominated them because the charity is close to my heart. They're based in Oldham, not far from where I live, and have built up a network of publicly accessible defibs across the local area, all registered on The Circuit, so people nearby can get access to one quickly in an emergency. Those first few minutes really matter before an ambulance arrives, so having them dotted around the community makes a huge difference. I'm responsible for checking our own defibrillator in the Warrington office and keeping it in working order, so I appreciate the effort that goes into keeping just one unit in service. When I saw they had lost local council funding for one of their defibs and had to cover the costs themselves to keep it in service, it struck a chord. So, I decided to nominate them so they can continue their lifesaving work."
As well as installing defibrillators, the charity delivers CPR awareness training and works to ensure lifesaving equipment remains ready to use when it matters most. Maintaining existing equipment is just as important as installing new units. Defibrillator pads and batteries have a limited lifespan, and rescue kits need regular replenishment to remain operational. Our monthly donation will help fund these essential replacements, ensuring more lifesaving equipment stays rescue-ready, while enabling the charity to continue expanding its reach.
